Today, the Village Hotel in Warrington saw almost 40 over 50 entrepreneurs get together to discuss what makes a place enterprising as well as the issues of setting up a business in the wake of retirement or redundancy.

One of the front runners to what makes an enterprising place was a high street run by independent business owners rather than chain stores and York was held as a great example of this. An area filled with positivity and optimism was also universally acknowledged as a great way to encourage enterprise and bring life to a community.

Then the discussion moved onto setting up a business in your 50’s which was a truly inspirational 30 minutes and involved included one woman who said that job security was one of the reasons she set up on her own! She said if she had full control of her career she know she would still be in a job in 2 or 3 years time! She took control and inspired others.

It was a great turn out and an amazing event.
