The North Yorkshire Enterprise Cafe
February 24th, 2010 by Diane BeckettThis afternoon Enterprise UK Yorkshire & Humber held an Enterprising Places Network Event as part of the North Yorkshire Enterprise Cafe organised by NYBEP. Hosted in the rural setting of Sandburn Hall in Flaxton on the outskirts of York.
With threats of snow and bad weather conditions we were very impressed with such a great turn out of attendees. In the grand but foggy surroundings, we were seated on round tables and treated to a delicious warm buffet lunch.
The event brought together a wide range of enterprising case studies with an educational theme hearing from…
The University of York’s Entrepreneur Society
St Aidan’s CE High School from Harrogate
Pupil’s from Brayton College in Selby
After a short break the speed networking challenge began. This proved to be particularly difficult as there were so many inspiring individuals and organisations in the room – we all struggled to stick to the quick turn around time. Luckily everyone got the chance to continue networking over tea and coffee.
The final part of the afternoon concentrated on round table workshop discussions looking at what makes an enterprising place, barriers to enterprise and inspiration. Comments and notes were made directly onto the chequered paper table cloths which were collected at the end to be collated and shared – watch this space to hear about the results…
