As an Ambassador for Make Your Mark I really enjoy sharing my enterprise story with people while learning what others have done too. Today was no exception when I was asked to speak with a group of IT diploma students from Wakefield College.

Talking about yourself is never easy so I chose to base my presentation on a phrase that I heard a lot when growing up – ‘Do you ever shut up?’

It seemed to work and to get across what I was trying to say – that the things that people may criticise you for could become your best asset.

The students were great and although it was nearly lunchtime they listened to what I had to say and let me share my experiences with them.

A big thank you to Wakefield College and Make Your Mark - here’s hoping we have inspired a budding entrepreneur to take their idea and make it happen.

Great event, I really enjoyed the day as it was great to share my experiences at Halifax and Stockport County as a young pro even though I was only there for short period, and more so my journey with Gérard School of Football Ltd.

It was also great to see the students taking a keen interest in both mine and Lindsey's journey and after speaking to some of the pupil's, I was pleased to hear that two individuals in particular are thinking of ways they can be enterprising which is fantastic!
