Redcar & Cleveland students get set for the Challenge!

November 16th, 2008 by julie

Earlier this week I went to an event organised by MFC’s Enterprise Academy and the Redcar LEGI team. Seven schools across Redcar and Cleveland spent the morning working on last year’s Make Your Mark Challenge.  None of the schools there had taken part in the Challenge before and all are taking part in this years Challenge. All seven schools (students and teachers) now feel well prepared for Monday. The students really did rise to the Challenge and came up with some fabulous ideas in just 3 hours!!! I had the opportunity to listen to the students present their ideas and take part in the judging. Well done to Bydales for their winning idea and impressive presentation.  Huge thanks to  the students, the teachers, the Enterprise Academy and the LEGI team for making it happen. And GOOD LUCK for Monday to all the students across the North East and beyond….I’ve just had a peak at this year’s Challenge and can’t wait to read some of the entries!!

Dave Elliott, Assistant Head at Rye Hills said of the day ‘This is a wondererful experience to encourage students to work as part of a team and develop initiative’
